PalmaVela 2017 Race Update – Friday, May 5th, 2017PalmaVela Race Recap: A shifty, gusty 8-12knt day as the wind blew from the land. It was a tough day for both sailing teams and race committee alike to work out the vagaries of the breeze. Bella executed a good pin end start, got straight into phase on the shifts and lead at every mark for a solid race win. Sounds simple, but required a great team effort with good tactics, great work by driving and trim team on the transitions to keep the boat powered up and into the next shift . Small improvements in many areas from yesterday made this a satisfying performance, 2 more days to go and today was a good step forward to be in a position to have a chance to win the regatta on the last day.
