Bella Mente Claims First to Finish, Navigators Trophy & First in Class in the 2025 Wirth M. Munroe Race
Palm Beach, FL — December 5, 2025. Bella Mente Racing delivered a standout performance in today’s Wirth M. Munroe “Race to the Buffet,” securing First to Finish, the Navigators Trophy, and First in Class under owner/skipper Hap Fauth.
“Hap hit the start line at full pace with the kite hoisted, and we extended away from the fleet,” said navigator Ian Moore. “The breeze was soft early at 7–9 knots but built to almost 16 knots. With 3 knots of Gulf Stream pushing us north, we were hitting 18 knots over the ground. It was a great day of sailing in beautiful conditions. The smaller boats sailed longer in the building breeze, so we couldn’t correct over them, but it was great to take line honours and the class win. Boat Manager Rob Ouellette added: “While Bella Mente was close to breaking the monohull record—set by Hap Fauth and the Bella Mente team in 2019—the light wind start prevented it. Still, finishing in just over 4.5 hours is a fantastic accomplishment.”
Bella Mente Racing now looks ahead to the next event in the SORC Islands in the Stream series, The Fort Lauderdale to Key West Race,
