Porto Cervo, Italy – September 2025 – Bella Mente Racing secured 3rd place overall at the Rolex IMAMaxi Grand Prix World Championship, capping off a week of intense competition, shifting weather, and exceptional teamwork on the waters of Porto Cervo.
From Owner and Helmsman, Hap Fauth:
“A big thank you to the entire Bella Mente crew and support team for a great week. Although racing was cut short due to Mistral conditions, Bella Mente went into the final day tied for first place. We had a strong and competitive race, finishing just 12 seconds behind. Always an honor to be on the podium.”
Championship Highlights
Day 1: Bella Mente opened the championship with a 4th-place finish in the first race, navigating tough conditions with precision. In Race 2, the team surged to 1st place, moving Bella Mente into 2nd overall for the day. The boat was in sync, and the crew’s seamless execution showcased both skill and determination.
Day 2: The regatta delivered one of the hallmark experiences of Porto Cervo—coastal racing at its finest. Bella Mente tackled a demanding 41-nautical mile course around Spiaggia di Mortorio, Soffi, and through the infamous "Bomb Alley," before a thrilling downwind and reach to the finish.
Tactician Terry Hutchinson reflected on the challenge:
“Coastal racing in Porto Cervo is some of the best in the world and today did not disappoint. It’s all a blur at the moment, but it was a hard-fought race for the Bella Mente team. Hap executed a solid mid-line start, and the boat handling side of the team was awesome!”
Looking Ahead
While Mistral winds shortened the racing week, Bella Mente’s consistent performance, tactical strength, and crew dedication secured a spot on the podium—an achievement that reflects the spirit and drive of the entire Bella Mente program.
